Meet Amaya Austin

Hello there!

My name is Amaya Austin and I am a digital journalist and documentarian located in Austin, TX. I aspire to cover minority groups, small communities, and the stories behind everyday people. After my high school endured a tragedy that surprised the nation, I vowed to make sensitive reporting my mission. As I seek news, I strive to be a human before a journalist and encourage my colleagues across newsrooms to adapt these practices as well.
